Pinellas County has announced that they will begin our Emergency Beach Erosion Control Project on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Fences at beach accesses will be placed on Friday, December 8 in preparation for the project to begin.
Our portion of this project will place an estimated 100,000 tons of sand on our beaches and the county has placed 245,000 tons in other municipalities thus far!
The beaches will be closed potentially through January 31, 2024. We will provide weekly updates and will re-open accesses as the contractor permits.
