[ARCHIVED] Pinellas: 911 Service Fully Restored

All customers should dial 911 to report emergencies.

As of 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 31, 911 service has been fully restored in Pinellas County. All those needing to report an emergency in Pinellas County should call 911.

Some wireless and landline carriers experienced issues with 911 call routing during the morning hours. All counties in the Tampa Bay area experienced similar issues.

The Pinellas County Regional 911 Center activated a temporary backup number to ensure all those needing to make emergency calls could get through.

Pinellas County additionally communicated this information via the county’s emergency alert system Alert Pinellas, as well as social media accounts and the county website, www.pinellascounty.org.
