[ARCHIVED] Monday, July 30, is the Deadline to Register to Vote for the August 28 Primary Election

The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections reminds voters that Monday, July 30, is the deadline to register to vote or change political party affiliation for the August 28, 2018 Primary Election.

Registration is required for new voters by this deadline in order to participate in the August 28 Primary Election. Voters who are already registered to vote in Florida do not need to re-register.

Florida is a closed primary state. Only voters registered with a political party are eligible to vote in that party's closed Primary Election. All registered voters may vote in nonpartisan school board races and judicial races.

The State Representative District 70 Contest is a Universal Primary Contest in which all qualified candidates are registered with the same political party.

All registered voters in State Representative District 70 are eligible to vote in this contest regardless of party affiliation. The candidate who receives the most votes will be the winner and the contest will not appear on the General Election Ballot.

Voters can visit for information on registering to vote or updating their voter registration information.

All new voter registration applications received by mail must be postmarked by Monday, July 30 in order to be valid for the August 28 Primary Election.
