Florida has closed primary elections. Only voters registered with a political party may vote in that party’s closed primary election.

There is one "Universal Primary Contest" in the August Primary Election. The Board of County Commissioners District 4 is a "Universal Primary Contest" because all qualified candidates are registered with the same political party. This means all registered voters, regardless of party, are eligible to vote in this contest. The candidate receiving the most votes will be the winner, and this contest will not appear on the November 8 General Election ballot.

All registered voters may vote in nonpartisan contests, including the judicial and school board contests, that will appear on the August 23 Primary Election ballot.

Voters may choose to vote by mail, at an early voting location or at their polling places on Election Day.

For more information or to request a mail ballot, visit VotePinellas.gov or call (727) 464-VOTE (8683).
