EFFECTIVE 6:00 p.m. tonight, a Mandatory Evacuation for all of Pinellas County Zone A has been ordered.
We expect high winds and massive flooding throughout Pinellas County. We expect at least 10FT of Storm Surge and continuous wind and storms for up to 48hrs.
We will begin sounding the warning sirens and having officers driving up and down Gulf Blvd and the Back Streets notifying residents to begin evacuating! Access to the bridges for re-entry will be restricted beginning at 7AM tomorrow morning. Town Hall will be closed at 4PM today and will not open until the storm has passed.
We will have our Indian Shores Police Department Emergency Operations Center operational over night and will remain on site and patrolling both Indian Shores and Redington Shores until it becomes too dangerous for us to remain. We are coordinating with our Fire Service Partners, and we will have emergency HIGH WATER VEHICLES on site and operational until we leave the Island.
We will have staff on board answering ISPD phones until 900PM (subject to demand).
