[ARCHIVED] Update – Emergency Beach Erosion Control Project – 12/12/2023

Emergency Shore Stabilization Project timeline from the contractor, Gator Dredging, has been added below. Tiki Gardens is officially closed per the County. Read on.....

Mobilization of the Emergency Beach Erosion Control Project will begin on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.  

Tiki Gardens Parking Lot will be closed throughout the project from 12/13/2023 through 2/3/2024.  

Fences will be installed at all beach access points with the exception of 193 Avenue West on Friday, December 15, 2023. This access will be open and closed according to the contractor’s needs.  

Beaches will be closed from 12/15/2023 – 2/3/2024 with the exception of:  December 23 – January 1 at the 193 Avenue West Beach Access (across from the Municipal Center)

Beaches will reopen as construction completes.

Sand hauling will begin on Monday, December 18. Work will proceed from north end to as far south as they can by December 23.

When they start back up on January 2nd, they will work from south to north. Again, beaches will reopen as construction completes.
