Town of Indian Shores

Posted on: July 1, 2024

[ARCHIVED] An important message from the Indian Shores Chief of Police

Please enjoy the beaches, have fun and most of all stay safe. However, please be aware that all town ordinances are being enforced, and violations will not be ignored or tolerated. Read on.....

ISPD will have additional Police Officers on patrol in both towns and on our beaches throughout the holiday week.  The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is also providing additional personnel and resources to assist with crowd control and with the following efforts:

  • The Juvenile Curfew Ordinances are in effect in both towns to encourage cooperation and compliance and help move unsupervised minors off the beach after 10pm.
  • Public parking lots will be closed at Sunset and will re-open at 7am. All vehicles must be removed from those lots after Sunset.
  • Fireworks are not allowed anywhere in Town. We want all visitors coming to Town to know that fireworks are prohibited.
  • Alcohol is also prohibited on the beach.
  • Visitors also need to be aware of and stay clear from nesting birds and roped off turtle nests.

You will also notice fixed message boards in both towns which continue to display educational announcements regarding prohibited acts being enforced.

Thank you,
Richard (Rick) Swann, Chief of Police
