
Councilor Housman brings extensive experience in both public service and engineering management. Since 2015, he has served on the Indian Shores Planning, Zoning and Building Committee, becoming its chairman in 2023, where he has been recognized for his leadership and professionalism. He has also contributed to several town committees, including those focused on the Gulf Boulevard Beautification and beach renourishment projects. His service reflects a strong commitment to the Indian Shores community.
Professionally, Councilor Housman spent over three decades at Lockheed Martin, where he held senior leadership roles in product support for major defense programs, including the JASSM and the MEADS international missile defense system. His responsibilities included logistics, safety, and engineering specialties, managing multimillion-dollar budgets and international teams. After retiring, he taught math at Valencia College. He holds a master’s degree in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s in Engineering Design and Psychology from Tufts University.
